denuncia "il cinismo delle autorità cinesi, che una volta di più hanno mentito, e l'incapacità del Comitato olimpico internazionale, che a causa del suo silenzio durato anni, non ha saputo prevenire una tale situazione... Si tratta di un'ulteriore provocazione delle autorità cinesi. Questa situazione ci fa temere numerosi casi di censura durante i Giochi".

Vogliamo rompere l'assedio di Gaza. Vogliamo risvegliare la coscienza mondiale sulla situazione di prigionia nella quale Gaza si trova rinchiusa, fare pressione sui governi internazionali affinché rivedano la politica di sanzioni che flagella la Palestina e mettano un termine al loro continuo sostegno all'occupazione di Israele. Noi vogliamo appoggiare il diritto dei Palestinesi ad accogliere le persone che vogliono venire in Palestina: gli attivisti per i diritti umani, i giornalisti, e chiunque.
Chi siamo?
Noi siamo esattamente queste persone, operatori umanitari, attivisti per i diritti umani, lavoratori volontari, giornalisti. Abbiamo alle spalle anni di esperienza di volontariato nella Striscia di Gaza e in Cisgiordania invitati dai Palestinesi. Ma adesso l'accerchiamento di Israele, che occupa illegalmente la Palestina, si é ancora più intensificato, e molti fra di noi si vedono rifiutare da Israele il diritto di entrare in Palestina. Malgrado l'urgenza che c'è di portare il nostro aiuto, il governo israeliano non ci permette l'accesso al territorio palestinese.
Apparteniamo a tutti i diversi strati della società. Nei nostri paesi, siamo insegnanti, medici, musicisti, segretarie, genitori, nonni, avvocati, studenti, attivisti, attori, scrittori, politici, cantanti, web designers, consulenti internazionali, e fra di noi c'è persino un anziano lavoratore dell'industria del cinema di Hollywood e un aviatore. Siamo Sud Africani, Australiani, Americani, Inglesi, Israeliani, Italiani, Palestinesi, e ancora di altre nazionalità.
Cosa faremo?
Abbiamo cercato di entrare in Palestina via terra. Abbiamo cercato di arrivarci per via aerea. Adesso facciamo sul serio: salpiamo le ancore, ci andremo via mare.

Inaugurating The Free Gaza Movement Sailing to Gaza
In August, unarmed Palestinians, Israelis and internationals will sail directly to Gaza without going through Israeli territory and without seeking permission from Israeli authorities. They include an 81-year-old Catholic nun, an 83-year-old Holocaust survivor, Palestinians from Gaza, 16 nationalities, at least four major religions and the international press.
On Tuesday, July 29, 2008, the Free Gaza Movement publicly introduces its international team along with the Greek vessels that will take volunteers from Cyprus to Gaza in popular solidarity with Palestinian human rights. From that day, any attempt to damage the project will be considered an act of aggression against a nonviolent international human rights mission.
The boats will stop at Greek ports to receive supporters and there will be opportunities for the press and public figures to travel part of the way on board and to broadcast from aboard ship with the latest high-speed satellite data systems
